Listening to your body signals!

When experiencing discomfort or pain, your body speaks to you. At such times, it becomes crucial to identify the source of pain in the first place. Critically observe the movements and positions that give rise to pain. Ask your trainer to modify the workout schedule so that the exercises have less impact on the intervertebral discs.

Conventionally treating it using cold or hot packs is one way to get rid of the pain but adjusting the body mechanics is usually recommended here.

Adjust your workout

It is not advisable to resume hardcore exercises if you continue to experience lower back pain. Shift your focus and introduce some breathing, gentle cardio, isometric abdominal exercises, and some gentle lower back stretching as long as it does not irritate the back.

Count on Home remedies

Minor instances of lower back pain can be treated by trying home remedies. Ice packs or heating pads can help reduce the inflammation or relieve achy muscles respectively. Consuming mild medications prescribed by doctors, practicing meditation and yoga are other solutions.
However, it is highly recommended to visit a doctor in situations where the pain is worse and unbearable. If the pain lasts for more than 10 days or is accompanied by numbness in legs and arms, quickly see your doctor.

Ditching your gym for a good walk in the park might make your muscles happy. Or changing the routine by riding a bicycle, water exercises and running can help ease out stiff muscles. Make sure to maintain correct posture while working and support the natural curve of your spinal cord when performing daily chores.
Making changes to lifestyle and eating habits are another factor to consider when suffering from lower back pain in the initial stages. Given the severity of the pain, taking a break should be the first thing to strike in your mind until the pain subsides Consuming less liquor, staying active, hydrated and reducing stress levels if any might be another strategy to help combat pain.
