Do I need a doctor’s referral to start physical therapy?

No, you do not need a doctor’s referral to start physical therapy at our practice. We operate as a direct-access provider, meaning you can schedule an appointment and begin treatment without needing a referral from a physician. This allows you to get care faster and start your recovery sooner.

What does a first visit look like?

An initial evaluation is 90-120 minutes in length. This visit allows your physical therapist to get to know you and understand your primary concerns, discuss your medical history, and provide a comprehensive evaluation based on your needs, range of motion, and body function. You will leave our office with a personalized Plan of Care that may suggest further visits for optimal recovery and movement.

Will My Insurance Cover Physical Therapy?

We understand that health insurance coverage can feel overwhelming and you want an affordable solution to get the expert care you need. Our philosophy is to provide you with the best quality of service so you are given the time, attention, and care that you deserve. Unlike traditional physical therapy practices that often keep you waiting, have you double-booked, don’t address the root cause of your concerns, and leave you with additional hidden fees, we deliver customized, convenient, and effective physical therapy care.

We are able to provide this personalized experience and operate out-of-network with all major insurance companies so that you can choose the level of care that is right for you. After you pay for your session, you can submit your receipt through your insurance carrier’s web portal and receive a reimbursement check by mail.

What makes your services different from traditional physical therapy?

One of the biggest advantages of our personalized care model is that you are not limited to a specific number of visits or length of treatment dictated by insurance. We focus on your individual needs to ensure you get the best possible care for your recovery and long-term wellness. Rather than just treating symptoms, as most traditional physical therapy providers practice, we address the root cause of your pain and discomfort, helping to improve your movement and body functioning from a holistic perspective. This approach allows us to create a more effective, long-lasting solution tailored specifically to your needs, abilities, and lifestyle.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions vary based on your needs. Depending on the severity of a disorder, you can expect to have 1-2 visits weekly or every other week at the start of treatment and will be tapered to allow for more independence at achieving your wellness goals. Most patients are in physical therapy for 1-2 months in order to regain function and return to their prior activities safely.

Your physical therapist will work with your individual schedule to accommodate a plan that facilitates recovery and meets your goals.

What happens if I need additional treatment beyond physical therapy?

If you should need additional care outside of what we offer, we will gladly provide you with an appropriate referral to another provider. We collaborate with a range of qualified professionals including orthopedic specialists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and other healthcare practitioners to ensure you receive the best care possible.

What should I wear to my sessions?

Comfortable work out clothing or loose-fitting clothes are best. Clothing that allows you to expose the skin in the area being treated is preferred, but not required.

Will I have exercises to do at home?

Yes, your physical therapist will likely provide you with a personalized home exercise program to continue your progress between sessions. To help you with correct form and to track your exercises, we utilize PhysiApp, an app that can be downloaded to your mobile or other smart device. You will be given an access code from your provider and will have access to your recommended exercises for an extended period of time. Without a POC or Wellness Plan signup, you will have access for one month. Individuals who choose a POC or Wellness Plan will have access for one year.

Do you offer home visits?

Yes. If you live within a 15-miles radius from our Winston-Salem office, we can provide physical therapy visits in the comfort of your home or chosen facility at no extra charge. Destinations outside of this radius and within no more than 30-miles will be charged 0.57 per additional mile.

For individuals seeking care at our Boone location, we do offer options for in-home physical therapy appointments. Please call (336) 559-3833 to inquire about home visits.

Do you offer payment plans or packages?

We offer a variety of options for payment plans and packages to suit your needs. The length of your program will vary based on your needs and goals. Our fee for an initial evaluation and consultation is $220. If you choose to opt-in to a personalized Plan of Care program for ongoing treatment, you will receive a 10% discount. A Plan of Care is not a contract. If you find the treatment is not working, you are not obligated to complete payment on your program and we will adjust your payment accordingly to the number of visits attended.

For those who are interested in strengthening their abilities beyond their initial Plan of Care treatments, we offer specialized Wellness Programs with additional discounts.

What happens after my physical therapy treatment ends?
